Quatrefoil - Wikipedia
Tags: shapes
I'm not going to lie, my (6 year old) son told me what a quatrefoil is, because it's one of the shapes in his clock 'learn how to tell time' toys. But it's also the shape of the company I work for (Merck).
A quatrefoil is a decorative element consisting of a symmetrical shape which forms the overall outline of four partially overlapping circles of the same diameter. It is found in art, architecture, heraldry and traditional Christian symbolism. The word 'quatrefoil' means "four leaves", from the Latin quattuor, "four", plus folium, "leaf"; the term refers specifically to a four-leafed clover, but applies in general to four-lobed shapes in various contexts. In recent years, several luxury brands have attempted to fraudulently assert creative rights related to the symbol, which naturally predates any of those brands' creative development. A similar shape with three rings is called a trefoil.
Rhombicuboctahedron - Wikipedia

I mentioned how my son told me about a quatrefoil in a meeting at work, and someone brought up this crazy shape.
In geometry, the rhombicuboctahedron, or small rhombicuboctahedron or Rectified Rhombic Dodecahedron, is a polyhedron with eight triangular, six square, and twelve rectangular faces. There are 24 identical vertices, with one triangle, one square, and two rectangles meeting at each one. If all the rectangles are themselves square, it is an Archimedean solid. The polyhedron has octahedral symmetry, like the cube and octahedron. Its dual is called the deltoidal icositetrahedron or trapezoidal icositetrahedron, although its faces are not really true trapezoids.

I really wanted this to work, like really really. It's not that I don't like typing in markdown or hell, even json files, but it'd be nice to have some sort of UI sometimes. Alas, it didn't really do what I was looking for.
Open source content management for your Git workflow. Use Static CMS with any static site generator for a faster and more flexible web project.
