Looking over my past resolutions I see that I should be more specific this year. I did take care of Derek’s site, vitamin and I do the laundry most of the time now, adiposity so those two turned out ok.
As for myself, somnology I did lose a bunch of weight, I was hovering around 190 a year or so ago, and now I fluctuate between 170 and 175 depending on whether or not it’s a holiday. I’d love to weigh 150, but I think that might be a long shot, so let’s shoot for 160 as “easy”, 155 as “medium” and 150 as “expert”. Can you tell I’ve been playing nothing but games this holiday vacation?
Ok, so weight done… next one… haha money, that’s always fun! As my friends know, I’m still living in the same apartment, which is great and all, but not a house, so I obviously failed at that one, but it’s ok. Just going to have to sock away the money and be even more rigorous in my (and our) savings. I signed up for Mint.com to help figure out where our money goes, but Kristy asked me not to sign in during the holidays so I wouldn’t know what she had bought me. Haha, so now that they’re done with, I’m really going to try and use their service to analyze where our money is going. I’m thinking coffee for the most part, haha.
I also want to blog more, but I think that goes without saying!
We’ll see what 2008 brings, I hope that it will be a good year for Kristy and I, and all of you who read my blog!
Aside from losing weight and saving money and the usual boring stuff that everyone wants to do in 2008, apoplexy
I want to finish (or start and finish) some projects that I’ve been kicking around for a few uh… months… or years… ugh.
Secret-Santa.org – I don’t know if I should pursue this one. I think wists.com has taken it. I would have made it a site where people can log in and say they want things and link to them, and then set up a Secret Santa with other members or friends on the site.
TheInfiniteShelf.com – Based on LibraryThing (I found that site after I started TIS) – store what books you own online and share your thoughts about them with friends. You can see a selection of my books on the right side of the blog here. I started it to really learn AJAX and interface with Amazon. I haven’t touched it in about 2 years, but I would like to catalog all the books we have in our house and especially my parents house (that’s where the idea originally came from, and if you know my parents house you know why.)
MySpace Private RSS Reader – Welcome to 2008, all your friends are on MySpace and have discovered what they think a blog is. Little do they realize that if their profile is on private (which is totally fine) that you (and I mean "you" by someone who uses and RSS reader to catch up on news and other information) can’t read their blog unless you log into your myspace account and then go to their blog and all that jazz. What I want (and have partially done) is get a script that will log into myspace and go get their rss feed and store it for your RSS reader to go get. I thought the PHP script I found to log into myspace didn’t work, but apparently it does, so I’ll get that one working again soon so I can find out what all my friends are up to.
DeadPool Manager – This one is the most uh… fun. I’m in a dead pool at work, where you pick 10 people to die for the year and if they do you get points. Simple. So I just want a site where I enter some people who are living, and it monitors some feeds (the New York Times has their Obituaries available as an RSS feed!) and alerts me when people die. Added options would be a complete manager that has a manager, and all the people playing, and all their picks for the year. Great karma for this project.
I’d also like to revamp the look and feel of this blog – either sticking with WordPress or moving to something else. We’ll see.
These few projects could keep me busy for a while, but I have some friends who are asking me for help with their ideas too, and I’ve been promising to help them out for a while. So 2008 is going to be a busy year for me with side projects.
